The Telephone Call

This music clip tells two stories. The first one is about a small beaver who is hunted by a vicious telephone receiver. The hunt results in a fight to death on a balcony. The second story shows a talking rabbit who is calling a human and gets on his nerves.

In 1986 Kraftwerk released their album Electric Cafe. One of the tracks was called Telephone Call and the video for this track was made in an old-fashioned b/w look. The people in the video also didn't show much emotion (typical for Kraftwerk).

My version of Telephone Call is a parody of the original video. Borrowing some of the ideas from it, the clip shows almost non-moving faces and deep shadows. Although there is a German language version of the song, I used the English one.

Telephone Call is a real music video and was cut according to the music. Some video effects were used like stroboscope and pixelisation.

The only black/white film by Pinguin Television and the only one in English language.

The video looks much more old-fashioned nowadays: there is no cell phone!
