Kamakura – The Beach

Kamakura isn’t only full of temples and shrines, but the city also has a long beach. It’s on one end of the road with Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine at the other end.

Big tsunami warnings in English and Japanese caution tourists to pay attention to the sea in case of an earthquake. This warning is repeated at various places near the beach.

Volunteers were picking up trash that day, the beach didn’t look very clean.

I was surprised to see a free concert on the beach when I returned from my walk along the sea. The camera isn’t suitable for low-light situations, so it’s difficult to spot the two men on stage.
