Mickey House Language Cafe: Let’s speak foreign languages!

In Tokyo there are different kinds of conversation cafes. There are pubs in Roppongi where the English proficiency is extremely high (before any drinks are turning any language into a unified mess). Of course this may have something to do that there are sometimes no Japanese at all.

But there are also some nice conversation cafes for a chat. One of them is the Conversation Cafe Mickey House near Takadanobaba Station. This is a place where Japanese go to practise their English – or any other language, but most of them seemed to settle on English. More and more people came in the Evening.

One really cool thing was that I was asked for a drawing and my signature. Just because I mentioned that I’ve been drawing comics since I was 8. I’m not very good though, although if I get famous, there are lot of people who can put drawings made by me on eBay (or Yahoo! Auctions here in Japan). I sometimes draw birthday cards myself and don’t keep a copy… Anyway, it was a nice evening. This pic was shot with the camera of my mobile. It’s a common misconception that Japanese cell phones are highly advance. The average model that most people use is, um, quite average.
