This is the Summer festival of the Kameido Tenjin shrine and is held annually. I wasn’t interested in the Mikoshi parade, because I’ve already seen plenty of those. What I was interested in were the lanterns which are lit up around the shrine in the evening.

Tokyo Midtown has a variety of events and for some of them, the nearby park is used. It has one of the best Christmas illumination of Tokyo and the waterworks seem to be an annual event too. Today was the first time I watched this combination of lights, lasers and lots of water.

I went to the Cheonggyecheon stream in the evening. In recent years there were huge investments to uncover the stream – although they have to pump lots of water to make it look more impressive. Parts of the Luce Vista were at the Cheonggyecheon stream as well.

A lot of cities have light festivals these days and Seoul is no exception. The LuceVista consists of several light installations in the city and all can be reached by foot.
