Palace day: Changdeok Palace

After visiting Changgyeongung and Jongmyo, I quickly ran to the Changdeok Palace, because it could only be visited with a guided tour. I barely made it to the 14:30 English tour.

Changdeok Palace is a UNESCO Word Heritage Site and was first built in 1405 and was twice rebuilt because of invading forces or revolts. The guide explained every house, how the heating system worked and about the history of the palace.

Since it’s winter, the “secret garden” was not that impressive. It should also look nice in autumn. I guess then you can understand why Changdeok was the favourite palace by many Korean kings.
