4. December 20085. November 2021 Mia Jaap 0 Comments autumn, shinjuku-ku

Today I went to Shinjuku Gyoen, which is often recommended as a good place to watch cherry blossoms. Unsurprisingly, it’s also one of the best parks to see the autumn colours

Heiwa no Mori park: Beautiful autumn colours

3. December 20085. November 2021 Mia Jaap 0 Comments autumn, nakano-ku

So far I have been to a lot of places to watch the autumn leaves but one place I haven’t visited so far is “Heiwa no Mori” (peaceful forest). Which is kind of weird considering it’s only a two minute walk from my apartment.

Autumn in Inokashira Park

1. December 20085. November 2021 Mia Jaap 1 Comment autumn, inokashira, kichijoji

Time for another re-visit: I’ve seen the cherry blossoms in Inokashira Park earlier this year so I had to see the autumn colours. Unfortunately, there wasn’t that much to see although the park is always worth a visit.

Autumn colours in Yoyogi Park

26. November 20085. November 2021 Mia Jaap 0 Comments autumn, yoyogi

They say that the best seasons to visit Japan are spring and fall. Last year I arrived in time for the last days of the cherry blossoms and only had little time to photograph the leaves in autumn (Momiji). This year I’ve got more time and so I went to Yoyogi Park today.

Sankei-en – Traditional Japanese Garden in Yokohama

27. July 20082. November 2021 Mia Jaap 0 Comments yokohama

Unfortunately all the cities around Tokyo that I haven’t visited are all two hour trips with regional trains. So that either means getting up early or go somewhere else. And there are many temples and gardens which I haven’t visited yet. One of them is Sankei-en (三溪園) in Yokohama.

There are many things to discover in Olympic Park and among them are the many sculptures scattered around the park area. I didn’t write down any artist names but the amount of sculptures was impressive.

Takehara – a beautiful town near Hiroshima
