This isn’t a post about the Apple Store in Ginza, I’ve covered it in an earlier post. Walking around Akihabara, I’ve noticed many smaller Apple stores. Maybe the iPod halo effect is working here?

Kamakura – The Beach

Kamakura isn’t only full of temples and shrines, but the city also has a long beach. It’s on one end of the road with Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine at the other end.

Akihabara: Super Potato 2004 – FamicomBox and Super Famicom Box

One store on my list for Japan was Super Potato in Akihabara. Super Potato (website) is a retro games store for everything from the Famicom (NES) to some failed CD-era consoles like the PCFX.

Apple Store in Ginza 2004

In the evening I went to the Apple Store Ginza. Germany doesn’t have an Apple Store yet so it was the first for me visiting one.

Sometimes I do travel without a fixed plan, just looking at the train/subway map and asking myself “I wonder what’s near station X?” With the JR Rail Pass, it’s included anyway, so I took a train to Atami which was the last stop of the train.

Akihabara – The Electric Town

I actually went to Akihabara more than once during this trip. Akihabara is also known as Electric Town and is a major shopping area for electronic and otaku goods of all kinds.
